Crisis Guidance

Crisis Guidance

If you or your child are in immediate danger, stop reading this page and call 911.

M.O.M. is not an emergency response agency. We do not have 24-hour crisis staff, emergency shelter, or law enforcement authority. What we can do is point you toward the right resources immediately — and help you stabilize once the immediate crisis has passed.

If There Is Immediate Physical Danger

Call 911. If you or your child are being harmed or threatened with harm right now, law enforcement is the appropriate first response. M.O.M. cannot intervene in active safety situations.

Domestic Violence Resources

If you are experiencing domestic violence or leaving a dangerous relationship:

  • National Domestic Violence Hotline: 1-800-799-7233 (call or text) | thehotline.org
  • Arkansas Coalition Against Domestic Violence: acadv.org | 1-800-962-1557
  • Local shelters can provide emergency housing, safety planning, and legal advocacy
  • If domestic violence is part of your family court situation, document everything and tell your attorney or legal aid advocate

Mental Health Crisis Resources

If you are experiencing a mental health crisis or having thoughts of suicide or self-harm:

  • 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline: Call or text 988 | 988lifeline.org
  • Crisis Text Line: Text HOME to 741741
  • If someone is in immediate danger, call 911

Child Safety Concerns

If you believe a child is being abused or neglected:

  • Arkansas Child Abuse Hotline: 1-800-482-2580 (24 hours)
  • Childhelp National Child Abuse Hotline: 1-800-422-4453
  • M.O.M. is a mandatory reporter. If a child discloses abuse during our services, we are required by law to report it.

Emergency Legal Situations

If you have an emergency court hearing, have been served with an emergency custody motion, or have received a contempt filing:

After the Crisis: How M.O.M. Can Help
